Adding a path to your ~/.bashrc

Setting up drush on my Ubuntu Studio 10.10

PATH=$PATH:/opt/lampp/drush
export PATH

Thanks to Adding PATH thread from the Ubuntu Forums.

  1. Why not place a symlink in /usr/local/bin? I just do it like so on ever Drupal box I admin:

    sudo ln -s /opt/drush/drush /usr/local/bin

    This way it is available for all users, without each of them having to hack their .bashrc
